The School of Nursing at Cleveland State University (CSU) offers both undergraduate and graduate programs in professional nursing. The purpose of the undergraduate program, which leads to a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree, is to educate professional nurses committed to the health and well-being of all people. Graduates of the program are prepared to function as generalists in community-based health care settings. They learn to use a preventive health framework to provide primary, secondary, and tertiary care to families, groups and communities. Cleveland State University BSN graduates are ready for entry-level positions in nursing as well as graduate study. The programs are available to qualified men and women who have been admitted to CSU and the School of Nursing. The pre-licensure program in nursing is approved by the Ohio Board of Nursing. A special program of study is designed to allow RNs who are graduates from diploma or associate programs and desire to earn a BSN degree.

The graduate program, through which nurses can earn a Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree, prepares liensed nurses with a BSN for advanced specialized practice. Graduate students may choose from the following tracks: Specialized Populations, Forensic Nursing, Clinical Nurse Leader, and Nursing Education. In addition, the School of Nursing and the College of Business offer a combined MSN/MBA degree.
